Tuesday 12th

Today in class for the first couple of minutes we were given the oppertunity to retake our origin myth quiz if we didn't pass the first time. I passed by test with 100% , so I didn't have to retake the test. Once everyone was done with the test we had to go to illuminate and work together as a class on analyzing Emily Dickinson quotes from her poem. We were able to get the first 2 quotes done. There are 20 quotes we have to do, and in each quote we have to write down the topic, analysis, conflict, and theme.

Monday 11th

Today in class our one pagers were due once class started. We had to take a picture of it and post it on our blog. Once everyone had turned in their one pager and posted it we had to go up and present it. Most of the people who went first had the same poem that was talking about hope. The other poem we learned was about how we take everything for granted and how once it's gone we start realizing how important it is. And my poem was about how women back then were viewed with a lower standered comparied to men.

Tuesday 5th

Today in class we read another poem of Emily Dickinson called "Success is counted sweetest." We annotated and annalyzed the poem.

Thursday 7th

Today in class we were given a poem of Emily Dickinson, but we got diffrent ones. There were 6 different poems that were given to the class, so some students got the same one while others had a different one. I was given "This is my letter to the World", and with the poem we were given we had to create a one pager reading analysis. In the one pager it has to included the title of the poem, four quotations from the poem, a drawing illustrating what it's about, vocabulary, a personal connection, and finally four questions that we can answer. We were able to work on it during class, but it's due until Monday so it gives me enought time to work on it. I had to go ask for help on fully understading the meaning behind the poem, but I was able to understand that the poem was talking about how Emily Dickinson was writting a letter talking about how she was born a woman, but back then woman didn't have rights compared to men, so she was saying how she should be proud of being born a woman even if at that time period they didn't have rights.
